Arnab Goswami was born on 7 March 1973 in Guwahati, Assam to Manoranjan Goswami and Suprabha Goswami. Arnab Goswami’s full name is Arnab Ranjan Goswami.
He originally hails from a village in Assam’s Borpeta district, but his family moved to Shillong and then settled in Guwahati. Arnab’s father served in the Indian Army and later, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, While his mother is a writer.
Arnab’s grandfather Rajni Kanta Goswami was a lawyer, while his maternal grandfather Gaurishankar Bhattacharya was a legislator (CPI) and served as the Leader of the Opposition in Assam for many years.
Arnab Goswami’s maternal uncle Siddhartha Bhattacharya is the sitting BJP MLA from the Gauhati East constituency. He was also the chief of the Assam unit of the BJP.

Arnav completed his studies at different schools in India as his father was a soldier in the army. However, he did his secondary examinations at St. Mary’s School in Delhi Cantt and later went to Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jabalpur Cantonment to complete his senior secondary education.

Arnab Goswami Career
Arnav Goswami had a lot of love for journalism, he started working with Kolkata’s English newspaper named The Telegraph but could not work there for even 1 year and came to Delhi.
After that, he got a chance to join NDTV where he resumed his career by anchoring News Hour. After some time Arnav started anchoring this program and also heard the news being broadcast on Delhi Metro.
During the year 2004, Arnav won the Asia’s Best News Anchor Award at the Asian Television Awards for News Night Anchoring.
In 2006, he left NDTV and rejoined Times Now news channel as editor-in-chief. He hosted a program on this channel, which was named Frankly Speaking with Arnav. During this show, he interviewed prominent personalities like Benazir Bhutto, Hamid Karzai, Dalai Lama, Hillary Clinton, and Narendra Modi.
Perhaps he was not happy with Times Now so he left the channel on 1 November 2016 due to political issues like journalistic freedom and editorial differences.
After that, he joined Republic TV, where he is still present as the Managing Editor. They have been able to reach this position today by showing their hard work and interest in their workday in and day out.
Through his journalism, he exposed many of his ideas to the people, although he also had to go through many controversies in his life.

Arnav started Republic TV after joining several channels which were funded by Asia Net which started on 6th May 2017. His channel was mainly invested in Asia Net by the then independent member of Rajya Sabha named Rajeev Chandrasekhar, who is currently also a member of the BJP party and was present in the post of Vice President of National Democratic Alliance in Kerala.
Rajeev Chandrashekhar resigned as the Director of Asia Net after officially joining the BJP. The TV news channel started by Arnav is very famous despite many controversies. It is the only English news channel in Asia that has been at the number one position for 100 consecutive weeks before any news channel had achieved this position.

On 20 April 2020, Arnav resigned as a member of the Editors Guild of India on live television, citing several reasons, alleging that Republic TV President Shekhar Gupta.
Shashi Tharoor had accused Arnav and Republic TV of being involved in the death of his wife Sunanda Tharoor. For this, he also applied to the High Court.
