Pooja Sawant completed her schooling from ‘Balmohan Vidyamandir’ in Dadar and her college education from MIES College, Wadala. Since Pooja had a passion for dance since childhood, while in school and college, she showed off her acting skills in many dance competitions and plays and won many prizes.
Pooja wanted to be a veterinarian from an early age. Because of her love for birds and animals, she has kept many animals in her home. In 2008, Pooja participated in the Maharashtra Times’ ‘Shravan Queen’ competition.
She won the competition with her intense acting and dancing skills. Sachit Patil, who is the judge of this competition, saw Pooja’s performance and asked her for his upcoming film ‘Kshanabhar Vishranti’. Pooja also immediately said yes and thus Pooja Sawant entered the Marathi film industry.
After that, Pooja won the hearts of the audience with her performances in Hindi reality shows like ‘Boogie Woogie’ and Marathi TV shows ‘Ekapeksha Ek – Jallosh Suvarnayugacha’.
After that, she also hosted the TV show ‘Vajle Ki Bara’. In 2010, she played a small role in the Hindi film ‘Tum Milo To Sahi’. Then in 2011 she played an excellent role in the film ‘Zakas’ with a well known Marathi actor like Ankush Chaudhary. The film became a blockbuster film of 2011.
After that, Pooja Sawant played many different roles in films like ‘Satrangi Re, Sangto Aika, Neelkanth Master, Poster Boys’. She has also choreographed a song for the film ‘Neelkanth Master’. In 2015, Pooja once again worked with Ankush Chaudhary in Chandrakant Kanse’s ‘Dagadi Chaal’. The film was a huge hit.
