After her studies, Simran Kaur Mundi moved to Mumbai and started working in Fame Cinema. While working there, Simran Kaur Mundi was noticed by experienced makeup artists Bharat and Doris. Simran Kaur Mundi encouraged her to participate in the Miss India beauty pageant in 2008 which she eventually won.
In the same year, Simran Kaur Mundi also participated in the Miss Universe contest held in Vietnam. Simran Kaur Mundi emerged as the top 5 finalists of the ‘Best in Swimsuit’ round and was declared the group winner at the National Dress Awards.
